FA: Amiga Transformer for the A 1000

Those are truly interesting items!

Appart from the auction, it would be cool to offer adf from those disks to the community.

Well, I went and listed my last Amiga 1000 with the 1060 Sidecar.

This is a very clean machine and works like a dream.

It also weighs a TON!

Transformer was a stand alone program written to work with the A1000.  Only it was related to the Sidecar/1060 was they both provided MS-DOS compatibility.

Kinda makes sense Transformer wouldn't be in the hardware database since it's software.

Tell me, is Transformer a stand-alone software emulator or is it related to the 1060 hardware?
If it is the first option, i can't find it on amiga hardware database.

I know I'm gonna hate myself for saying this, but if someone wants just the 1060, we could probably work something out.

However, given the weight of the 1060 vice the A 1000, there won't be a tremendous savings in the shipping costs.

The 1060 is a solid steel case while the 1000 is plastic.

Really wish you were selling the 1060 by itself

I thought there was a patch for the 2000 and 500, but wasn't sure.

You must be a VERY patient person.  Everytime I've run Transformer on the 1000, I was able to enjoy a nice leisurely meal waiting for the program to finish an operation.

It also worked on A2000s and A500 but you had to patch the Transformer software because it expected to find an A1000 keyboard.  If it didn't find said keyboard, the software would load, but your keyboard wouldn't work.  I can't remember the name of the patch now, but it had to do with a batch of keyboards made by Cherry for Commodore A500s and A2000s.

The Transformer software was a huge plus for me back in my college days.  All of my computer lab assignments were on MS-DOS based PCs and I hated running all the way across campus to fire up Lotus 123, GW-BASIC, or one of the DOS C-compilers that I was using.  Transformer allowed me to do all of my assignments at home.

Only thing left is the 1060 package.
