GVP HD8+ TTL chip fried … again!
« on: February 26, 2012, 11:19:53 PM »
Hello, I pulled my A500+ out after nearly 2years stored in a box. When connecting my GVP HD8+ I got a yellow screen which means something bad between the Processor and FastRam. I already had the same problem in the past. The problem could be either the 2MB FastRam strips or the TTL buffer (U8) on the GVP HD8+. So I pulled the FastRam from the GVP HD8+ and put them in the Grand Slam, loaded Workbench, and FastRam was recognised without a problem. Therefore the problem (like last time) seems to be the TTL 74AS244WM buffer (U8) on the GVP HD8+!!

When I replaced it last time I ordered an extra one and therefore I will try to replace it soon. However my question is this; what could have fried it this time round?

… any ideas?
