What to put where?
« on: July 02, 2009, 08:29:29 PM »
Hello,

So here comes a question for which there can be many different answers. However I have to ask it because I do not know how I am going to build up my setup.

Basically how is your workbench installation organised?

From what I saw so far it seems that people install workbench in a partition named "System". However for what is the "Work" partition used? Where are programs and games installed? Two oter different partitions? And where do I save my personal files?

Thanks for any answers.

Regards,
Sim085

But for example if I install WordsWorth under the Work partition then where would you save the documents created with this program?

I am asking these type of questions because I am now used to Microsoft Windows. On this OS I know that programs should be installed under C:\Program Files and games undder C:\Games, and documents under 'My Documents'.

... however on workbench I do not know where things go!!

Thanks for the reply. Just something else. The desktop (I think in Amiga this is called workbench as well?) only displayed partitions up to 3.1 right? or it can also display program icons?
