I can replace the pula chip if need be but tell me whwt chip controls the external floppy drive cuas it still works fine so maybe it is a cold or dry joint"
the floppy just makes a regular grinding noise but will not read any discs

 Where do you live?

If near France or Australia I can recommend two top blokes to fix it. From my experience you have a fried Paula chip (who controls de floppy unit) or a bad cable or cold joint on the 34pin header.[/quote]
