For those interested, we just listed Word Perfect 2000, dirt cheap and easy to try out. You can always get newest version if you like this one. For $15 including shipping to US and likely most of the world, you can't go much wrong. This is slightly used though.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190316685987Word Perfect is nice. Word is ok (used mostly due to people at work). Open Office Writer is nice/neat, good to use at home. But then Excel is better that Open Office Calc Spreadsheet, especially if you use it at corporate/work level.
On Amiga, I'd say: Final Writer 97, AmiWriter (from Haage&Partner), Wordworth 7, ProWrite (nice & simple) in this order.
