anyone interested in a parts CDTV?
« on: January 19, 2009, 12:38:04 AM »
Ok, so many of you know I got the "Minty" CDTV from red with the blown Power supply.
I have stripped it out of my old CDTV (which I never got around to actually testing before I took it apart).
I have the old CDTV and motherboard all apart, and was wondering if anyone was interested in it. It apparently has a good CD drive, bit the chassis is a bit beat up (as I have stated before) not all that bad- though. It would probably make a good project to put in a A1200 Motherboard and actually have a modern CD or DVD drive with an accelerator.
I was tempted to do this, but I have too many other Amiga projects half started on the go right now.

the whole thing minus the power supply, In pieces- I can see if I can hunt down all the screws, but no Guaranties -it didn't have all the screws in the first place.(motherboard shielding has not been removed from around the motherboard)
-no remotes
chassis is a bit banged up, and the front panal has been removed (2 ribbon cables to the mobo)
Trades or offer?
I will try to post up good pictures tomorrow.

if not the whole thing goes to e-bay.

well, because it is untested and a bit banged up, I am will to entertain offers or trades (I really want a A600 :)- doesn't have to have any thing with it)
but that is probably asking way too much. :)
I paid $100 for it in October.

Unfortunately nothing on that thread, but I am always looking for Amiga stuff.
stuff I am looking for Right now:
Any A1000 external (side peripherals-like side car)
A1000 keyboard (as long as it is not broken, yellowed ok)
External floppy drives and or CDrom drives (SCSI of course)
Printers- only Okidata at his point, because ribbons are still very easy to get.
I am getting a A3000 right away, it is just base (i think) so any A3000 ram etc.
My A 2000 only needs an Accelerator card, so not much needed or wanted on that.
A1200
CD23
CDTV keyboard
Software:
Small business/ inventory tracker
games (complete with boxes of course)
All Larry games
Dragon's lair
Empire
Any and all D&D games,
Stunt driver (or is that test driver?)
A FPS game like Gloom or Doom etc

Now of course I don't really expect some of the stuff on that list (lets be realistic) but it may give you an Idea of what I am trying to hunt down.
I am not looking for any Midi stuff.

Keep going LOL!
I don't have a C64 (I know GASP, but the only one i want is a 128D version).
I have almost 100 sticks of different sizes of EDO RAM out of old PC's , so I really can't use that.
I have those programs for Amiga, but I thank you for trying. :-D

If you didn't live in Canada I'd be trading. The postage costs would be prohibitive.

The postage here from the US was about $35-$40, so I would presume it would be close to double. With the exchange rate again about half so I would guess that it would be close to 40 pounds (euros?)

Remember,I would cover the postage from this end on this for a decent hardware trade.
But remember this is an NTSC unit, I suspect just swapping out the card would change it to Pal, but I am not positive on that.

If no one else is stepping up, it will be listed on Ebay now, It has been 10 hours. I can and will pull the e-bay listing if someone steps forward.
