unless there is a Kickstart adapter with a 1.3 ROM in the A1000 you cannot autoboot the HDD. The only Controiller Card allowing Autoboot on the A1000 was the Comspec SA1000 which doesnt require a KS ROM and allows you to write a KS Image to the HDD. (Due to this it doesn't support the RDB configuration.)

Yes but you still need to boot from the Kickstart Disk. The idea if having an Autoboot HDD is to never require a Disk at cold boot time. Which was the reason the Original A2090 didn't do well.
