I have seen 1200s go for under 200 dollars multiple times on ebay.com.au and they weren't rooted. $200 for an a1200 in good nick is a fair price, a blizzard mkIV for 200-250 is also a fair price. 700-800 dollars is a fricken joke. A 1200 with an 8meg card is not worth 400. All this seller is doing is driving the prices up even further because people will use his non selling auctions as justification for selling their 1200s for even more. I hope that does happen actually, maybe sellers will flood the market and drive the prices down. That's why people do buy it now auctions, because they know the cookie could crumble either way.
I am sure there have been a few A1200 sell for under $200 in the past but not that many recently as buyers really swomp on them when they are at auction with a low starting price. Perhaps the current ebay situation is one excuse for him putting a high starting price on his A1200's as ebay has done a good job at scaring many sellers and buyers with this whole Paypal only crap.
Anyway lets stick to the original topic. You say that $200 for an Amiga 1200 is a fair price. I agree. You also say that $200-$250 for a blizzard mkIV is a fair price. I could live with that. You then say that $700-$800 dollars is a fricken joke. I totally agree here as well. If you read my first post i say, "This dude at one stage had his A1200 advertised with the Blizzard for $450, which in Australia is a pretty good price unless your a tight @ss." So dont you think the asking price of $450 for both items you mention (plus he is giving more in the way of large HD, software ect) is fair???
Bottom line, i am not here to argue with anyone especially anyone from Melbourne Australia as i know a few of you. I am just commenting on his auction while at the price of $450 with the Blizzard which i think is a fair price, and to argue the fact that us Aussies have always paid more for anything Amiga.
