Repairing dead A2000
« on: January 24, 2009, 10:29:27 PM »
Hi,

I probably should finish one project before starting another, like fixing my A501.

However, I have a A2000 no video, just light/dark grey screen.

What i've done:

a. Replaced all socketed chips
b. All voltages good @ mobo and on socketed chips.
c. Voltages good on all ports (video, mouse, etc.)
d. Power LED lights.
e. Removed battery (slight leak damaged fixed and checked.)
f. Different jumper settings tried.
g. Tried both RGB and Composite video = nothing

What now? I'm stumped...... :boohoo:

Only progess so far... if you want to call it that. :-)

Usually boots to grey screen but I power on-off-on a couple of times it occasionally sticks on a red (pinkish actually) or white screen.

I've tested 1084s & RGB cable with a A500 so I know that it is ok.

Thanks...........
