I don't know if there any true value in having an RTG card in an A3000, but I have a low end one in my A3000, a Spectrum 28/24 (or are those numbers reversed?). I have noticed that it runs very well and having the ability to run background pics and a higher resolution is nice, although loading a background does slow down considerably considering I pretty much have a stock A3000. It's worth trying. If you don't like it you can always remove the RTG, sell it, or put it in another machine. My opinion on my system is that I like it.
