Don't you love it when...

You play Bard's Tale for a couple hours, roam a few levels, gain all sorts of weapons, gold, and experience points, then go to the review board and upgrade all your characters, go to Garth to sell the loot you found and upgrade your weapons and armor, then on the way back to the Adventurer's Guild to save you.....

crash

I'm having a real hard time not blaming WHDLoad...   Maybe it was WinUAE, but it was AmigaOS that reported the error so...

I'll try it again tonight.  But if I crash somewhere, I'm not sure how I'll handle it.  Since WHDLoad doesn't use ADF files for the character disk, I'm not sure I can get my characters out of WHDLoad so I can play off of an ADF image of Bard's Tale.   Doesn't inspire confidence.  :-/

Would'nt it be good to use original floppies into a classic amiga ?

I had several amiga machines.  But I found new homes for them when I left the US.  So I do all my classic gaming through emulators now.  This has been good and bad.

Just copy the character files (#?.TPW.C) onto the ADF.

BTW I was always annoyed that BT1 didn't have a "save game" feature.

Yeah, I remember always having to do an aport arcane to get back to the AG to save.  This of course was after playing the game enough to learn aport arcane...  sort of like the docking computer in Elite.
