WTT: Working a600 for something a500 related
« on: December 12, 2009, 04:03:57 AM »
Just bought an a500 from Red.  (Thanks Red) Would anyone be interested in trading an a600 for either a memory upgrade, hard drive upgrade, or something similar?

Why don't you want the A600? If you set them both up with a null modem cable you'll have a fantastic multiplayer setup, there are heaps of games that make use of this kind of link.

Maybe in the spirit of Christmas, someone will find some spare hardware to give to you for your A500 as a gift! I hope so! I wish I had some spare 512k/RTC expansions, but I'm in need of a couple of those myself since the batteries exploded and killed them.

If you can afford to pay, you could email this guy and ask if he could make you one of his A500 expansions - http://www.students.tut.fi/~leinone3/ide/ide68k.html

I have a 1200 and 2000 also if I wanted to do the multiplayer thing.  The main thing is that I had a 500 when I was a kid, so that's the one I'm really after.  I like the expandability of the 500 over the 600 also.

I should say that the 600 is in great shape, with a new case from amigakit.  The keyboard has developed some flakiness that I think i can fix.  It had been working fine.  It has 3.1 roms I think, but I think I have 2.0 roms for it also. I also have a metal can trap door memory upgrade from commodore and also the new individual computers memory upgrade, the one with the denise socket so you can use the indivision ecs.
