Just bought a 286 bridge board
« on: November 20, 2009, 04:50:37 AM »
I hope it works.  :-)

This is going in a 2000 with a gvp 68030 board.  I think I need the janus software, right?  It also looks like ne2000 boards are visible from the amiga side with the right driver.

I have a 16-bit adaptec scsi isa controller and a 16-bit isa ide caching controller.  We'll see if either of those work.  I just need to figure out where to mount the hard drives inside.  Man, the 2000 case really sucks.  Maybe I can cook something up from a donor case.

I have a 16 bit sound card also.  I just need to find a vga board now.

I seem to remember 386sx upgrades that plug into 286 sockets.  I'd like to try that, but I think the sandwich board is in the way.  And what is the sandwich board for anyway?

So many questions.  thanks

brian

I don't expect to use them on the amiga side.  But I still need ethernet on that machine, and since there's a driver floating around somewhere for that, maybe it's worth a try.  I could always just do the usb ethernet thingh though since there's a deneb in there as well.
