2000 wont boot

I have a 2000 with a gvp 030-33 accelerator (with scsi) connected to two scsi drives.  When I first got it a couple weeks ago, I turned it on and got the 2.04 rom animation asking for a boot disk.  After talking to the previous owner, he said that this happened sometimes and the fix was to turn it off and back on.  He was right, off and back on fixed it.

So I completely disassembled the machine to clean it and remove the battery.  Swapped in the floppy drives from the other 2000 I had.  I also used the power supply from the other 2000.  Get it all back together and no boot.  It's asking for a boot disk.

I ensured that the ribbon cables are installed and on the right direction (they're keyed).  There's power to each hard drive.  Everything (obvious to me) has been checked and rechecked.  It sounds to me like the hard drives are comming up, but nothing.  Any ideas?

No, but I didn't change any cabling or jumpers.  It's the same controller as before and the same drives plugged into the same spots on the same ribbon cable.

There's no separate terminators so there must be some jumpers on one of the drives that's doing it.  Would that make it flaky or just not work?

I'll check tonight.  I don't think that's it though.  The drive are crammed on of top of the other into the 5.25" drive bay.  The ribbon cable connectors are only a couple inches apart.  Putting them on backwards would be nearly impossible.    I'll have a look at the termination settings tonight.

I did change out the power supply.  And there is a lot in the machine.  Maybe the other one was right on the edge and it's barely too much for this one.  I'll try to disconnect some things to see if it comes up.

I poked around again tonight.  I didn't get a chance to take it apart and look at the scsi terminators.  I did unplug anything not essential for booting from the hard drive.  It sounds like the disk won't even spin up now.  I think i'll try to swap in the other power supply.  Maybe I have a dud.
