Fastest baud dialup modem for amiga?
« on: February 03, 2010, 03:08:09 PM »
Does anybody know what the maximum baud dialup modem the Amiga can handle?  I have a 56K USR that I would like to put on my Amiga 2000.  Can the Amiga operate at this baud or would I need some kind of special card to make this happen?  Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.  What are some of the newer ones you are referring to?  I saw different types such as Multiface III, GVP Extender, etc.  Would any of those work?

My Amiga 2000 has a 68030 accelerator w 12mb RAM.  What exact card would I need to allow me to take advantage of the full speed of a 56k modem?

Which would be better to use between these two: MUlTIFACE III or the GVP I/O EXTENDER?  I read that the Multiface  doesn't have an eprom, so you have to install it with software.  Is the same true for the I/O Extender?  Thanks.
