Hi from the Pandora team
« on: April 27, 2008, 07:45:00 PM »
Hello everyone,

Craig here, one of the people on the openpandora.org team.

We are all massive Amiga fans and were wondering if any of you had opinions on our new handheld machine?

We were very much influenced by the spirit of the Amiga while making the Pandora.

It runs Linux but it should have no trouble emulating an A1200 full speed.

We are looking for any developers who might be interested in working on some of our beta units, several of which will be free to a good cause.

Well, let us know, good or bad.

Thanks,

Craig

Thanks everyone, nice to hear you like the system.

There is no reason why Amiga OSs could not be ported as long as the source is available and isn't too CPU specific.

If someone wanted to do that you are very welcome to have a go, but for now we will have A500/A1200 running at a silky smooth speed.

We really hope a lot of the Amiga scene will get involved with the Pandora, its specs are pretty similar in comparison to the Amiga dropping in to the C64 and Spectrum world back in the 80s :)

Thanks,

Craig
