GVP Autoboot ROM not found
« on: June 08, 2009, 04:43:16 AM »
My GVP Impact card (1st series) either just came back from the dead by itself or it didn't like one of my A2000s. Anyways, burned a copy of GVPSCSI 3.15 to a 27c128, popped the EPROM in to the right socket, and set the jumper. The install software still keeps telling me that no Autoboot ROM is installed. The image won't fit on a 27c64. I would try to use a 27c256, but I don't know how to write to the lower/upper parts of an EPROM yet. Any suggestions?

I'm using an EPROM on mine GVP SCSI HC+8 (same as yours, IIRC) with version 4.15 (latest version). Works OK with a 27C128.

The problem can be related with the speed of the chip. Try again with a faster one (120ns or better).

I have the Impact HC without the RAM option. Turns out the EPROM I used is a 200ns part. As far as shrinking the file down, my software supports Intel HEX files. I don't know if the software automatically shrinks it for me, but i've never had to do that before. Anyone know how to write to both banks of a 27c256 using a Willem? I've googled to no avail.
