article about doing it step by step. Mind you, it's really not for the faint of heart. And here, we install a
50MHz 060.
It involves desoldering of the 040, then solder a socket with one ore row of pins and then, the real fun begins. 040 and 060 are different in at least two details : the voltage and the clock signal. Anyway, here is the summary of the operations. I can translate for you if you don't speak french, (witch is of no use at all in computers)
Les modifications effectuées :
* Le changement du support 040 par un support 68060 (une rangée de plus...).
* Ajout du module d'alimentation 3.3 V - LT1585 LM 3.3 V cms.
* Ajout des diodes en référence : 3x 1N4001 (cms ou standard).
* Changement de position du jumper d'alimentation.
* Déplacement de la diode pour l'alimentation du module (à côté de la batterie).
* Ajout d'une résistance de 330 Ohms (cms).
* Déplacement du jumper (côté oscillateur).
* Changement d'oscillateur (mise sur support) 50 MHz.
Les pièces requises :
* Un support 68060 (le mien coûte 50 FF, environ 8 Euros).
* 3 diodes 1N4001 (si possible cms).
* Une résistance cms 330 Ohms.
* Un support pour CI 8 ou 14 broches suivant l'oscillateur 50 MHz que l'on a un oscillateur 50 MHz.
* Un 68060 !

Conseil : un radiateur et un ventilateur donneront une stabilité parfaite à la 1260.
