connect a modern mouse to a Miggy (and mantra approach)
« on: March 16, 2003, 12:11:24 PM »
# I understand that those cool optic mice with the red glow underneath need power from the mouse port, is the Amiga capable of providing it ?

# Is there a page somewher describing how to build a USB<=>DB9 connector ?

Back in pre-USB days, mice wer sold with a PS2<=>DB9 adapter.

# Why is that when I
*) plug a recent USB Logitech Optical mouse in the USB<=>PS2 supplied w/ it, then
*) plug the ensemble in the aforementioned PS2<=>DB9, *then*
*) plug it all on the A4K, and then, resting on my knees,
*) say 3 times
jay, jay, jay Agnus DEI OHMMMM

It does not work ??

# There is a false question is this list, will you clever reader spot it ?

 :-o  :-P  :-P  :-?  :ak47:  :hammer:

Mm.

I'm really wondering how are those sort of gizmos wired :

http://www.mrhardwarecomputers.com/pages/mousekey.htm

See, it acts as a Joystick / Mouse auto switch, witch is very cool too.

I want to BUILD the thing ! 35$ for an adapter is VERY steep, although this one is sexy and looks very cleverly crafted... I'm hesitating a lot... Shipping from US takes ages...

Does anyone know if they do blue ones?

I have one. They were the first ones, With the Logitech Logo in a strange (bit tacky) soft transparent plastic circle, lightly protuding (intersesting, huh ? :-D ) only difference apart from the colour, bright dark blue. I'm using it right now. Did'nt know it was a collector  8-) I will sell it out for... Say 930€, it's the price for a basic Pegasos :-P

Well, on a more serious note, I just ordered a MRH Mouse adapter from Mr hardware and will learn from there.
