find 3.1 A4K chips ? And what about elbox news ?
« on: February 17, 2003, 12:18:36 PM »
Hi guys

I have two questions :

# Is there a retailer left *anywhere* on the planet that still stocks A4K 3.1 KS chips ?

# Is there a way to use chips designed for A1200 in the A4K, w/ some sort of adapter trick ?

# Is such a chip (3.1) needed to adapt a A4K MoBo to products such as the elbox mediator ?

Thank you !

KOOL ! I actually found it

Now what I wouldlike to know is that :
#Is there a way, using the OS3.9 CD, to generate install floppies for use on a machine whithout a CD-Rom drive ?

I mean it *has* a CD-rom drive, but I'm quite sure it's not properly connected, and I have little clues about where to begin...

Should I try to :
1-mount the news 3.1 chips
2- install *3.1* OS
3- install CD-rom (using HD toolbox ? Never dealt w/ a CD on a miggy)
4- install 3.9 OS...

But I'm really unsure about this CD stuff... Any good documentation about that ? (what models and speeds are supported, and an easy walkthrough would be cool)

thank you !

wow, quite cool, and would that work *now*, with only 3.0 ROMs but 3.1OS installed ? Or does it NEED the ROMs ?

The point is that for what I want to do with this *very* A4K (I have 3) I really don't need OS3.9 foncionality, just I need it to read CD's properly.

anyway your previous answer was a relief, thank you very much
