Amiga on portable apps??
« on: September 09, 2009, 08:36:13 AM »
Hi

Portable apps is if i understand one of the most downloaded pieces of software on sourceforge.
I saw that they had a secton called operating systems. I also saw that an old mac emulator was there. I noticed the complete lack of Amiga presence, why?. Has any one been in contact with these guys? Should'nt winuae be there to represent Amiga?? Or perhaps AmiKit or AmigaSYS??
Just a thought.

@Varthall

Yes, I understand the legal problems. But look what they wrote about the mac-on-a-stick.
Perhaps it could be up to the user to acquire the necessities.

Amiga the original portable apps OS. Nice angle. :-)

I tested to move a folder "winuae1610" that had a 3.1 install in it with rom and hd folders.
Placed it on the usb/portable apps folder and made it visible with options/refresh.
Changed the rom path and the hd path to the USB's in winuae config.

Took this to a win XP computer with no previous winuae install, and it worked so it's portable it seems.

Hope it will be posted in the operating systems category.

So, a folder with the normal structure including this newly created winuae.ini next to the exe and it’s good to go as a portable with all abilities intact? How great! Thank you for the info.
