Hi,

here is one stupid question, but I really would know the answer  :-)

Which is the best way to connect monitors to my CV64?

I mean: there are two vga ports on the CV64 and a standard Amiga video port on the A4000 motherboard and I don't want to do some stupid thing that may damage the hardware.

Now I've connected the Amiga video out to the left (looking the backside of the A4000) CV64 vga port (using the amiga/vga adapter) and a Commodore 1942 to the right CV64 vga port.

Is that insane?

But doesn't the CV64 already have an internal automatic switch?

Isn't possibole to connect a monitor to the first vga port and another monitor to the second vga port leaving the standard a4000 video out disconnected?

The connector on the CV64 that is closer to the Zorro ports are video in, the one far away from the Zorro ports is video out. Loop the Amiga video out from the motherboard to video in on the CV64, and you only need to have one monitor.

But so I have to own a monitor capable to manage 15Khz anyway.

I've done exactly whato you told me: connected amiga video out to the port near the a4000 doughterboard and the 1942 to the port far from the zorro solts.

Getting a scandoubler seems to be quite impossible at a human price nowday.

So I thought that having the chance to connect two monitors, through a switch, like it has been suggested, I'd have been solve the issue: a monitor with 15Khz capability and another more standard vga monitor.

I agree with you and that's the reason I'm using only the 1942 now.

But is there a bigger monitor capable to manage 15Khz that I can buy anywhere?

The monitor attached to my PC is a really good one (Samsung SyncMaster 245B, 24" lcd full hd display) but it can't go near 15Khz.

I think this is the most suitable solution, may be I'll buy such a monitor/tv then.  :-)
