Imagine Red Dawn, but the Russians offer everyone the chance to participate in fake elections so they could "choose" a puppet regime. Everyone would have been happy and welcome them with showers of rose petals. Then those nasty "anti-American" terrorists, insurgents and dead enders would have got what's coming to them. :-D
