OK, so the A4000 died, and after much fiddling, it seems that it runs if I take out the Picasso IV.
But of course, then I'm looking at my old display and it's not so good. Plus the poor old thing suffers from the heat and gets very flaky after an hour on.
So, time to get a new machine. I've been saving up the money and so for Christmas I gave Justin at livewire systems a little business and after a bit of a long trip (7 business days) the machine is here.
And I'm POSTING from my new uA1. And it's beautiful.
LOVE,LOVE,LOVE,LOVE IT!!!!
I actually had it yesterday morning and was going to post then, but just at that moment amiga.org was brought to its knees. I hope it wasn't from the shock of having a new Amiga try to connect. There must be others before me.
So who else has one?
Now with my old A4000 up I can start the transfer of my files from the SCSI on the A4000 to the IDE on my uA1.
Guess it would be easier if all my A4000 drives were IDE, but oh well.
Anyway, it's very exciting and if you haven't got yourself a new machine yet but are thinking about it... stop thinking. Just get one!!
Did I mention I LOVE it?
(BTW that means that my A4000 isn't going to be used too much so if anyone wants to try their luck with it or its bits ... there's also most of a A3000 around here somewhere)
