Assigning more memory in E-UAE
« on: August 15, 2008, 08:10:55 PM »
I am using E-UAE via Hi-Toro on my MacBook Pro.
I have a problem with DPaint IV. (and 5)
I keep getting a "not enough memory" message when I try to use anything over 800 x 600 resolution.
Also I can only get a 1 pixel brush to work.
I am guessing this is a memory issue but i can't seem to assign more to the program.
Any ideas?
Many thanks.
Aloha!

@pjhutch

In the Hi-Toro interface I am allocating 2MB of chip and 8MB of fast.
If I allocate more than 2MB to chip it automatically takes the fast to zero.
It allows the allocation of up to 8MB of chip but with zero fast.

I have tried all the combos available using the HiToro control panel with basically the same results.

BTW...really like your site...lots of very useful links.

fishy_fiz,
Your memory is working just fine.

2meg of Chip and you get no fish...I mean Fast  ;-)

Yes, Hi-Toro allows you to add 512meg of Z3 fast RAM. And 32meg of RTG Graphics RAM.

I just tried that with 8meg of chip...zero fast.
But with all of that I still get a "not enough memory for this # of colors" and a single pixel brush  :-?

I wonder why I can't assign more chip RAM while keeping 8meg of regular fast RAM?
