Which OS for computer artist?
« on: July 16, 2008, 08:47:49 PM »
I am building up my 3000T to use as a graphics machine mainly using DPaint, PPaint, Brilliance, DCTV etc.

It has a stock 040/25 processor, KS 3.1, Cybervision 64/3D and soon to be added Deneb USB controller and X-Surf board.

While the main purpose is art I'm sure a few games and other apps will get used.

So, which OS would be best for me?

Mahalo for the advice.
Aloha  :-)

Yes...I have a CD drive already so that base is covered.

I was concerned about the headroom needed for OS 3.9 with a stock 040.

Also, sorry for dumb question, but what is Boing Bag?

Mahalo to you all for all the great input.
I've just sprung for a copy of 3.9 so I'll let you know how I like it.

@motrucker.

What kind of graphics work do you do on your miggy?
Do you use a graphics card?

@ Crom00

I just installed AF2008 and for the first time managed to get workbench running on my MBPro.  :-)
So how did you get DPaint on there?
What resolution do you run it at?

Yeh, I love DCTV...I've done some really good rotoscoping and graphics stuff with it.
How does it improve with a 060 or PPC card?
