Amiga 2000HD - White Screen
« on: February 18, 2008, 07:43:54 PM »
Hi there,

I've been looking online for this one, and as far as I know, white screens on boot means that the hardware is not properly initialized.

I've got that Amiga in this summer, it didn't had any power supply. So I took an ATX power supply and wired it on the Amiga. The only problem, is that the power supply doesn't have any -5V output (kinda weird, but it's a Dell, pretty normal).

So right now, the Amiga does boot, but with a white screen. Is the -5V output the cause of the problem? Is it necessary? And if so, is there any easy way to obtain a -5V :P

I use the RCA video connector if that helps,

Thanks,
Jason

Umm, well it's white, and after around 8 seconds, the screen blink and it gets white again, so... it means my CPU's dead?

EDIT: Also, the battery leaked a good lot in there, maybe just by deep cleaning the region? The socket pins are green-ish, how can I clean that?

I'll try that, if it doesn't work, I'll just ask my uncle if he wants to give me an Amiga eheh
