Some hardware for AOS4 questions...
« on: February 16, 2009, 03:32:28 PM »
For me two questions about AmigaOS 4.0 classic:
1. What fastest way connection hard disks for amiga1200.
2. Whether It is possible to get more than 128 mb memory on a4000?

P.S. I have a strange sensation of an illogicality: on 4000 i got fast scsi, but there is not enough memory for good work with aos4, and for 1200 is possible to have 256 mb, but disks too slow.

You should be able to make use of it in 128MB RAM, and seeing as the memory is faster on the A4000 card, as well as the faster CPU, it would be the more desirable card to use.

Not understand you very well, but 128 mb on my csppc  it is not enough! After OS4 boot i have about 60-70 mb free, and after load Origin web browser - about 15-20mb. I realy need more, then 128Mb! but looks like OS4 not supported zorro memory. Or does?

However, I'm not fully sure if OS4.0 supports the SCSI on the Cyberstorm or Blizzard for that matter, so you may be restricted to slow IDE in either case...

CSPPC scsi work good, about 20-25 mb/s, so its ok for me, but seems no support for BlizzardPPC scsi.
So i still don't know what is the fastest way to connect hdd to 1200.

1. Latest Fastata probably

hmm..
I already buy indivision ff, and looks like its impossible to fit it together with FastATA.

And is someone real, who use FastATA under AOS4?

2. No.. making my dkb3128 and fastlane useless.  :-?

Yes, I remove fastlane too, to start AOS4. :(
may be its possible to write a patch or a driver, and use some zorro boards??
