No, it doesn't. The difference between unregistered and registered MUI is that the latter can actually save your changes, while the former can only use them (i.e. they're lost when you reboot).
No, that's not true. Mike is right. MUI demo saves all options you can change. But many options are greyed out and cannot be changed.
