No. As mentioned above, it's not a driver issue, but the IDE standard does not allow hot swapping. CD and ZIP drives are different. There the drive itself remains in place and connected to the IDE cable, you only remove the disk. With flash memory like CF cards you remove the entire device from the IDE cable. This is not supported.

One would need to make an intelligent adapter which treats the flash memory card as removable disk and identifies itself to the IDE bus as removable harddrive.

I don't know if this specific adapter supports hot swapping but at least it's this kind of device which could support it. It also shows how much it would cost to get such a thing as opposed to the cheap CF-to-IDE adapters usually used.
