I'm guessing that I can somehow create new modes in Picasso96....but this always seems like a frightening prospect (burning out a monitor).

You cannot create new modes in UAE. UAE automatically offers all modes in Screenmode prefs which are available to the host OS.

The highest resolution I can select is 1920x1080 16-bit., which is my monitor's native resolution.  But I'd like to choose a 32-bit mode.  All other (lower) resolutions have a 32 bit mode, but 1920x1080 only has the 16 bit mode.

Does Windows run this mode in 32bit?

Did you set enough RTG memory in UAE? 1920x1080x16 needs ~32 MB only for one screen, x32 needs twice as much.

You are right. I must have entered rubbish into the calculator. Or the calculator made rubbish of what I entered, it's Windows after all ;-)

Nevertheless the question is still valid. If there is less than 8MB RTG memory, the 32bit resolution will not fit in.
