If you can boot without startup-sequence, then enter the following commands into the DOS window:
rename devs/dosdrivers/#? storage/dosdrivers
rename devs/monitors/#? storage/monitors
rename s/user-startup s/user-startup.disabled
rename wbstartup wbstartup.disabled
Now wait until disk activity has finished, then wait another five seconds and then reboot.
Does it now boot completely and show the desktop with icons?
