Edit s/startup-sequence and remove the endcli command at the end.

Then boot again and after the error message appears a prompt should be shown. At the prompt enter

version workbench.library full

What does it say ?

And if you enter loadwb after that, it says again "invalid resident library" ?

Does it access the CD drive and load files ?

If you enter

cd sys:

and

cd

what does the second cd reply ?

Please try this: edit the CD dosdriver (devs/dosdrivers/emergency_cd) on the floppy disk and check the MaxTransfer value. It's probably 0x1000000. Change it to 0x10000 and try again.

If it does not work, please compare the emergency_cd file with your CD0 file on the HDD and tell me the differences.

Edit: please also enter version c:loadwb.

Does the emergency disk contain cybergraphics files ? I.e. something in devs/monitors and some files beginning with cgx in libs ? Remove the file from devs/monitors and try again.

Regarding the 060, I assume you've got a BlizzardPPC, otherwise you wouldn't be able to run a BVision. Does your Blizzard have a recent flash ROM version ? You can get the latest here: http://powerup.amigaworld.de/index.php?lang=en&page=13
And regarding the libs, there should be a 68040.library with a size of only 748 bytes and a 68060.library of slightly more than 100K.

Could you tell me which version of the IDEfix software you use exactly ? Is it this one: http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/IDEfix97 or this one: http://icomp.de/t/bin/eb_final.lha or a completely different one ? Could you try the eb_final version ?

I know it has something to do with setpatch, because I left that out of the startup-sequence.

I won't even find the CD drive without SetPatch, not to mention that it completely refuses to boot any further. You probably booted once with SetPatch active, then removed it from the disk and did a warm-reboot (Ctrl-A-A). This means that the ROM update was still active.

Whenever you change something which affects the memory-resident modules, you need to switch off the Amiga in order to test the change properly.

I have one last question for you, Thomas. How do I install this 'newer' version of IDE-Fix that you linked for me?

I don't think you need to. The eb_final archive contains IDE-max 119.17, too, so it seems to be the same version.
