One of our cats brought us a few presents
« on: March 16, 2005, 10:34:48 AM »
Not a bird or a mouse, kittens!

Let one of the cats in today, it had something in it's mouth that I didn't pay attention to, figuring it had brought home another little animal to play with in the garage, so I just watched her go into her "spot" in the garage and thought nothing of it.

Later I see her walking up the driveway with something else, bringing it right into the garage again.

I go in the garage, and she's laying in her spot nursing 4 kittens!

I'm either becoming unobservant, or my eyesight is getting bad, cause I never noticed. Hell, hope my kids arn't out having kittens without me noticing.

3 of them are completely black, like the mother and suspected father, and one is completely white with light grey highlights on the head and ears, with faint grey stripes barely visible on the body.

The problem here I just realised is that I assured my wife that I had the correct cats neutered.

Neuter the housecats, and make sure the barncats have shots.

So I thought I had correctly identified them, damnit. I guess I owe one of the barncats an enormous apology. How do you apologise for something like that?

Guess I have to hide them for awhile. Who would have thought that my life would eventually compose of nothing but a bunch of I-love-lucy esque shenanigans?

Greetings,

I agree X-Ray. It's also a well known fact that cats tend to lower blood pressure and relaxes the body. Specially when you stroke a kitty gently.

Would be nice if T_bone would like to take a picture of those kitty cats. What do you say T-Bone? :-D

"Did you remember to fix the housecats and the shots for the barncats?" "Yes dear..."

Heh, page 2 shows the garage the cats were probably concieved in, it's another building damaged by Hurricane Fran, still not fixed. I would have had this one knocked down too, but it's the only garage I have access to that's wired for 220v, has water, sewer, natural gas, and a paved road leading to it.   Oh yea, and the roof has the full load bearing I-Beam necessary for pulling the ocassional motor, if I tried a stunt like that in a barn, it'd probably collapse.

Got the thing for a song. Too cheap to pass up (the property tax is higher than the lot cost, and the building was considered free), too expensive to fix (bought it post-Fran), too usefull to sell or knock down, and it's only 1 lot away. Yep, it'll be an eyesore for a while.
