I have checked the CD0: icon information (SYS:Dev/DOSDrivers) and it is as follows:
ACTIVATE=1
DEVICE=cd.device
UNIT=0
FLAGS=1

I believe this should be DEVICE=squirrelscsi.device  :rtfm:

But not sure  :-?

Have a look here http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=28062&highlight=squirrel somebody else had the same problem but with a 600.

Sorry, I meant to ask - are you using the Squirrel install disk to set this up. :idea:

It should work perfectly with that. Mine did many years ago :-)

Yeah, using the original disks that came with CD ROM drive.

I tried changing DEVICE=squirrel.device

still no luck :-(

I edited my text earlier - I think it should be squirrelscsi.device.

Also you need the discs for the Squirrel. You perhaps don't even need those that came with your CD.

Just spotted something in your earlier message - if the unit is hardwired as 3 then UNIT must be set the same i.e. UNIT=3

The original Workbench install discs do more than just copy the files onto your hard drive. They also set up a lot of paths and assigns that let your Amiga know where to find things on your hard drive.

I'd suggest that you have a hunt around and try and locate the right install disk for your version of Workbench.

Did you actually run the Squirrel install script? :rtfm:

I think - therefore I am !! Sorry wrong place  :crazy:

I believe this is a 2 stage process.

Ignore the CD drive until your Hard drive is set up correctly and running.

Then plug in the Squirrel and CD Drive and boot from the HD and stick in the Squirrel set up disk and run the install script off there.

I'm not sure if 3.5 includes full scsi support or not. I know 3.9 is suppossed too. I've got that on my 4000D.
