SEEN 'THAT MOVIE'? Let's seperate fact from fiction

'THAT MOVIE'... V's McDonald's Australia

Claims crew memebers encourage customers to Super Size their meals.

We don't Super Size meals at all.

Says salads contain more calories from fat than a Big Mac[tm].

Our salads are all under 7 g of fat per serve and significantly less calories, including the dressing.

Suggests Yoghurt Parfaits have nearly as many calories as a Hot Fudge Sundae.

Our Berrynice Yoghurt Crunch has low-fat yoghurt, contains real fruit, has less calories and is 97% fat free.

Believes nutrition information is hard to come by.

We have nutrition information readily available in every restaurant, and on our websites.

States Chicken McNuggets[tm] are made from every part of the chicken.

The chicken in our McNuggets is breast and thigh meat.

Follows a diet averaging twice his recommended daily intake of calories.

We would not suggest anyone eat more than the recommended daily intake of calories.

Shows a man who deliberately avoids exercise whilst eating to excess.

We encourage everyone to exercise as part of an active lifestyle.

Documents a man who eats every meal, of every day, for 30 days, at McDonald's.

We don't recommend anyone follow this eating pattern, and suggest you enjoy McDonald's as part of a well balanced diet.

[color=990000]We hope all this is food for thought. Please visit www.mcdonalds.com.au for more information.

  Enjoy your meal.

I assume they mean to say they no longer sell Supersize meals. Which is a pathetic avoidance of the actual question.
That's absolutely not what it means. How do you get an idea like that?

Quote
Cwew members are aggwessively encouwaged to "sell up" - that is, force more garbage down the customer's thwoat.
That may be in the UK, however I've never experienced that in Australia.

Quote
That's a little inconvenient, isn't it?
Not from where I'm sitting.

I'm pretty sure that in Australian McDonalds stores, I can see the nutritional information on the walls. Right there in black and white.

Quote
That's why they have such an aggwessive advertisement stwategy!
'Agressive'!

Is that the best you can come up with? What exactly is an 'agressive' advertising strategy?

It's a little bit like saying that somebody's an 'agressive' chess player. They might be good at chess, but that means that they have good tactics. 'Aggression' is a quite meaningless word to be using in this context.

It seems that it doesn't matter how open McD's is about ingredients of food, etc. they still get the {bleep}. Often people accusing them of being dishonest. Seemingly out of nothing but pure whim.

It's the only logical conclusion, since McDonald's do sell up and Supersize is the biggest there is. The only way they could "not supersize" would be to not sell supersize products. Why wouldn't I come to that conclusion, given that the supersize product line was indeed cancelled in the UK?
READ the original sentence again. More carefully this time.

I've certainly never been asked if I want to supersize a meal, and if they have these leaflets on the counter - besides the registers - which people may take when they're ordering, it seems silly to contradict what is written on the text right in the customers hand.

Pay more attention then. It is McDonald's policy and pwinted in all training materials internationally, sell up wherever possible.
I pay as much attention as any other customer. I would certainly know if I was being asked if I want to 'supersize' my meal, or if I 'want fries with that'. I do have a tendancy to notice such things.

That's odd, perhaps it's a new development. Do you have a photograph? Does it have a proper breakdown of each individual product in a table?
Are you calling me a liar?

I'm afraid you will just have to take my word for it this time. There are great big posters on the wall near the counter (usually on the right, in most stores).

There are also plenty of leaflets that are available on the side of the restaurant.

Quote
Why the f**k are you talking about chess?
It's a kind of analogy thing.

If you can't figure out what aggressive marketing is, perhaps you should consider learning the English language or something.
Well, since your obviously the English professor here ... perhaps you would like to give me YOUR description of what 'aggressive' actually means when it comes to marketing.

For example, what are the differences between agressive and non-agressive marketing?

Quote
You on the other hand are a consumer, apparently the target market of a scary, almost indoctrinaire marketing scheme. It works on you. So who knows more about McDonald's, me or you?
You tell me you know more. You want me to think you know more. But you don't seem to want to prove it.

Everything you've written so far is contrary to what I find in the real world. And so, I either believe my own eyes, or, some mug who claims he works at McDonalds.

Still, when you die a fat, lonely homophobe, I will be laughing.
Sweet! :-)

I wont be there to hear it!

(I don't know how I'll get fat though, and I don't know why my death would be any of your concern... but there you go :)

Fine! Thankyou!

I'm only interested in the opinions of half intelligent people, anyway.

If you can't make a decent argument without the personal attacks, you honestly DO NOT BELONG HERE. :-)
