I could copy the CD via the net onto his hardrive, but how will I do the real installation then? Is that possible from the harddisk-copy?
That's what I would attempt to do.
Installing from hard disk is faster than from cd anyway.
I don't have 3.9, but I would say that you copy the CD to its own directory, and make an assign to that directory that is the same name as the CD.
Just make sure you have the HDD space!
