im a big fan of SCSI, but please dont think that buy using a SCSI HDD on an IDE controler(connected to the computer), or an IDE HDD on a SCSI Interface - if thats what you are asking - will give you SCSI level of performance

all SCSI gives the performance

such ide-scsi, parallel-scsi, or usb-scsi are just a kludge, to get things connected :-)
