If you're tallkibng about a dvd player with mp3 support or car stereo with mp3, you need to rename the files with short names, some (if not all) these devices need short name in order to recognize the files. Do an experiment, try to rename them with short strings, numbers if possible and try.. you can use srename from aminet to mass rename files.
