Android devices are far more customizable and computerlike. Nothing like being able to drop to a CLI to take care of business!
..not to mention the great variety of hardware choices and price ranges. I started with two of the cheapest Android devices available (<$99 apiece) and enjoyed them enough to upgrade to a more reasonably powerful tablet/phone. No regrets, and it makes the iPhone users jealous.
