I like the Wico Command Control and Boss joysticks.  The CD32 control pad is pretty good as well.

This is the best joystick.



I have one, but I've never tried it.  It must be the best, however, because it's the heaviest joystick I've ever encountered.  Like someone ripped a chunk out of an arcade machine.

Oh, that's not my pic.  My joystick that matches that one is buried in the garage somewhere, so I googled for that pic.
