_If_ you had it sent through Canada Post, there is a $5 handling fee. (If the item is worth over $20) There is no duty on Computer Parts in Canada, only goods and services tax (7%), which applies to pretty much everything (or 15%  if you live in the Maritime Provinces). Now if you had it sent UPS, well it's bend over, I think I know Ya!  Their brokerage and other charges are obscene.  That's not to say if there was no invoice included, they couldn't make their own determination of value.  I've had stupid fudgers send me an item I bought for $15 and put an insurance value of $100 US and then I got charged $10 for GST (with exchange) and the $5 handling charge. I just got a 600X Thinkpad off of ebay for $299 US including 2 docking stations and a Wireless USB adapter.  They opened it up and thought it was worth $1000 CDN, so I got a bill for $75, but I should get most of it back if I apply for it with documentation proving how much I actually did pay.  The guy actually insured it for $350 which included the shipping, but I guess they thought it was too good a deal to be true  :-) Well they were $3500 CDN three years ago.  :-D
