WANTED: A1200 (rev. 1d1)
« on: November 19, 2008, 04:10:05 PM »
Been checking on AmiBay, but no joy.  :-(

Must be a 1d1 board because i want to use my Apollo 1240.

Boards with the timing fix may also do, but i`m pretty paranoid about DIY hacks.  :-)

Preferably no yellowing on keyboard and case. (I should be so lucky)

Are the New-Old-Stock A1200s rev. 2B? how easy is it for the timing fix to be done on them?

endCLI

Escom 1D4 (factory fixed) also works fine with the Apollo cards. Make sure you have juice going to the floppy connector, otherwise it may not boot or act flaky/crash when it's cold.

So, are the New Old Stock Escom A1200 Magic packs that Analogic are selling fixed 1d4 boards that will work ok?

Can any techs clear this up catagorically before I spend the money and buy one.

Thanks in advance.

My original A1200 which I've had from new is a 2B with the double sized clockport. It was completely useless with the Apollo 1240/40 I bought new at the 1999 Cologne show. Lucky for me my friend had a spare A1200 he'd picked up from a junk shop for £5! It came with an overdrive hdd as well! I borrowed it from him and it worked fine. I think it was a CBM 1d4 but I can't be 100% certain, it was some years ago and that machine is currently missing...

I have a 1d4 motherboard for sale that used to be in my BlizzardPPC tower setup. Worked fine with that, should be ok with the Appollo if that's any use.

Cheers,
Rudi.

Cheers Rudi, but im looking for a complete a1200 in a wedge case, i`m sick of towers and such.

It`s back to basics for me. :-)
