Boing Bag files and 3.9 patches?

I was looking over the Amiga files I downloaded to my pc sometime ago and I noticed different yet similar files. I am confused on the differences, since I can't use my Amiga yet I was wondering if anyone can tell me the differences.The following are:

BoingBag39-1.lha
BoingBag39-2.lha
OS39_update_patches.lha
OS39BB2-patches.lha
