There are no benefits in relation to the Zorro bus itself - a modern disc in either SATA or PATA will support faster transfers than Zorro-II can handle anyway. The main advantage is that it's getting harder to find PATA hard drives nowadays, and they're often more expensive than their SATA counterparts. So the advantage would be the ability to use cheaper, more common drives.
