How much cd-rom support does OS 3.1 have? Do I still need AmiCDFS or IDEfix97 to mount a cd-rom in 3.1? It sounds like once you get to OS 3.0 or higher you don't set up mount list.


OS3.1 has much better CD suport than previous versions of the OS. As mentioned above you don't need to use a mountlist to mount the drive. OS3.1 comes with a config file for CD Rom support CD0 (either in Storage/dosdrivers or devs/dosdrivers), which you set up for your drive:- device=scsi.device, unit=1 or whatever for your specific set-up). As for a CD file system, OS3.1 comes with Commodre's own CDFileSystem, which you can find in L. There are other CDFile Systems you can use, ASIMCDFS is one, but you can also find free ones on aminet such as AmiCDFS. http://aminet.net/package/disk/cdrom/amicdfs240
