Deneb transferring files from digital camera
« on: October 13, 2008, 10:20:04 AM »
Hi all,

Last night I plugged my Canon DSLR into my Deneb. Card found the camera, no probs and I can see all the files. However when I try to copy a file from the camera to the Amiga it reboots after copying about 2/3 - 3/4 of the way through the file. The average files size is around 4.5MB.

The Amiga is a 4000D with Cyberstorm MKII 060 and Cybervision 3D with Scandoubler and x-Surf 3c.

Thanks guys. The first chance I've had to look at it agian this morning. I updated the firm ware to V9. All went ok without any error messages. However the miggy still reboots after a short period - it copie more files across form the camera than it was doing first time round though.

Ho can I find out if the Deneb is using PIO mode or not?

I tried the ptpdigicam software, but this doesn't rujnatll. Rebbots as sson as I start the app. No program window or anything. I've updated MUI but still no joy. I also tried the debug version with the same result.

Lloyd thanks.

I'm using PIO mode. When I go into Trident its got the green active symbol against it. DMA though doesn't appear to be operating. When I try to start DMA I get a device failure message.

I tried the Deneb in my A3000D, which has got the standard 25mhz 030. OS3.9 and 3.1 Roms. Its also got a PicassoII and a Fastlane SCSI card with 48MB ram. The deneb worked fine no probs, transferred all the files off the camera without a hitch. Wonder if my A4000D is failing on me.

Lloyd,

I'm running the latest versions of Poseidon and Luciferin. I've managed to spend a few more hours today on it. I stripped the A4000D to the bare minimum and repalced the Cybervision with a PicassoII from my A3000. Thinking this would solve any issues with CV3D. No joy same result.

I then replaced the Cyberstorm with the original A3630 (EC030 stock version). Deneb worked without any problems. All files transferred. I then put the Cyberstorm back in and I'm back to where I started - copies a couple of files and then reboots.

I reckon its got something to do with the Cyberstorm, but what I haven't been able to figure out. I've got the latest version of the 060.library, 040.library and 040Dummy.library in L:

Lloyd,

060.library etc are all in Libs:

Maybe its got something to do with my startup-sequence. What's your startup-sequence look like? Are you running cyberguard or anything similar?
