It is already a year overdue.  It was announced in December 2004 that the prototype cards were already finished and running Linux, and ready to go into production for a consumer release in Q1 last year.

I just find it slightly strange that the cards have been completed and working for over a year and there still hasn't been so much as a photograph shown.  Not that a photograph means anything (we've all seen photos of SharkPPC, BoXer, AmiJoe, Dragon et al) but at least it proves the thing exists in some form.

I'd have liked to have seen at least a little video of the board plugged inside an A1200 and booting into Linux, as they have apparently been doing for 14 months or so now.

Until we can buy it, I don't think the Dragon is any less vapour than the PV, but at least

1. We have seen pictures of the Dragon and know that it actually exists.
2. Elbox have a proven track record in producing Amiga hardware going back years.

Neither of the above apply to ACK / PowerVixxen.

Could it not just simply be that the cause of the late estiamted release date for the PV be down to the fact that they are also having to create MiniPCI grfx cards?

It could also be down to a delay in getting shipments of chips and other parts which is no fault of there own when you consider a request for "500" chips compared to an order for 10x that much!!

Please can everyone stop these tired posts as they are wearing abit thin.

It could also be that they were unable to even take a photograph of the prototype boards, which have been running Linux since 2004, because their digital camera was stolen by aliens and while trying to retrieve it they were kidnapped and beamed aboard the aliens' spaceship where they suffered horrible tests before being dumped back to Earth in the Himalayas near the Tibetan border where they were attacked by mountain goats.
