Hi you can install 3.5 or 3.9 on your A1200 but you will need some fast ram, a CDROM drive, and 3.1 ROMs.

You can buy from Amigakit or of course from Ebay.  For example you could buy this, and add an external SCSI CDROM, and these 3.1 ROMs.
