I spoke with the programmer of Death Mask (Mark Page, aka Rombust, ex-member of the Nerve Axis demo group) a couple of years ago and even he said that the game is terrible :-)
He also wrote Super Methane Bros, which is a fun game and now available (with source code) in Windows, Linux, and RiscOS flavours from
here, and some Sega Megadrive games.
